Custom software, built to be handed over

Working software in your hands every few days, in repositories you own, documented well enough that another team could take it on tomorrow.

What we build

Business systems rather than consumer apps. The work that tends to come to us:

  • Internal platforms that replace a spreadsheet nobody trusts and three people maintain
  • Customer and partner portals where people check status themselves instead of emailing your team
  • Integrations between systems that were never designed to speak to each other, which is most of them
  • Mobile apps where the job genuinely happens away from a desk
  • Reporting and MIS layers that turn operational data into something a board can act on

We are a poor fit for work that needs sixty engineers by next month, and an unusually good fit for the system one department depends on that has quietly become critical.

How the cycle runs

Four days to understand the problem properly, five to agree what gets built and what it costs, ten building in the open, five connecting it to everything else, four to release and hand over.

You see working software from the second week. Not a prototype, not a demo environment, the actual thing in your actual environment, reviewed by the people who will use it. The difference matters because a demo hides the integration problems and those are where projects die.

At the end of the cycle you decide whether there is another one. Nothing is structured to require one.

You own all of it

Repositories created in your organisation from day one, not ours. Your cloud accounts, your domains, your data. No proprietary framework you have to keep paying us to maintain. No licence back to us for code you commissioned.

This is worth checking with anyone you are considering. Ask where the repository lives, whose account the infrastructure sits in, and what happens to both if you stop working together. The answers vary more than people expect.

Documentation written for someone else

We write the handover document as though the next person to open it will be an engineer we have never met, because eventually it will be. Architecture, decisions and why they were made, how to run it locally, how to deploy, what breaks and what to do about it.

If leaving us would be painful, we designed it wrong.

Questions

Asked before,
answered straight

Do we own the source code?

Entirely, from the first commit. Repositories are created in your organisation, infrastructure runs in your accounts, and there is no licence back to us. You can take the whole thing elsewhere at any point.

What does a custom software project cost in Dubai?

We price per 28-day cycle at a fixed figure agreed before the cycle starts, so the cost is known rather than estimated. Most useful systems take between one and four cycles. The scoping cycle tells you which, before you commit to the rest.

Can you work with our existing codebase?

Usually yes. Inheriting someone else's code is normal work. The first cycle in that situation is mostly reading, testing what the documentation claims, and telling you honestly whether it is worth continuing or worth replacing.

What technologies do you use?

Conventional, widely known ones, chosen so that hiring someone to maintain the result is easy. We avoid anything that would make you dependent on us specifically. If a choice would narrow the pool of people who could take over, that is an argument against it.

Day 01 starts here

Describe the system.

Tell us what it has to do and what it has to connect to. We will tell you roughly how many cycles it is, and whether building it is the right answer at all.
